POSSIBLE FRAUD ALERT
The Cumberland Police Department has received
information regarding several individuals going door to door selling firewood.
This is unusual as most firewood sales are initiated by consumers
ordering their firewood. Sometimes individuals conducting this
type of what appears to be an innocent attempt to sell products is
actually a diversion for the purpose of committing fraud or other
crimes.
If you are approached by
anyone selling firewood please obtain as much information such as a
plate number, description of the vehicle and individuals, and please
call the PD as soon as possible at 829-6391. An officer will be
dispatched to investigate.
Thank you,
Chief Joe Charron

CUMBERLAND FARMER'S MARKET
This is GREENS week at the Cumberland Farmer's Market,
Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Look for seedlings, and many
other seasonal favorites, too. At the request of many, Longwoods Alpacas will once again be bringing
alpacas to the market--that will last as long as people remember to
keep their sweet family dogs away from the livestock, preferably in
the car, or at home. Dogs=predators, and the alpacas nearly
carried their pen into Tuttle Road a few years ago when a dog lunged
toward them, barking furiously. Little dogs are just as scary
in the mind of an alpaca.
Fiddler, Craig Hensley will perform on Saturday, June
11, so plan to stay a while once you finish your rounds of the
vendors!
