PATRIOT FLAG DISPLAY
On Thursday, June 23rd, from 7 a.m. to noon, the Town of
Cumberland will be displaying a 30 ft. by 60 ft. flag on our ladder
truck at Moss Side Cemetery at the Veterans Monument. This flag
is part of a nationwide tour that will be displayed in all 50 states
and will conclude in New York City at ground zero on September
11th. The intent of this display in each state is to remind all
of our citizens to "Never Forget" the tragic events that
happened to our country ten years ago.
There will be public safety staff, veterans, and anyone
else that had a part of the terrorist attacks (both
directly or indirectly) present. The Patriot Flag tour
has been featured on the CBS evening news and has grown in public
awareness since the tour initiated last September.
