Energy Advisory Committee
Are you interested in learning more about your community? Can you spare a few evening hours? Would you like to meet other Cumberland residents with similar interests? Becoming a member of one of our committees is a great way to get involved! The Town of Cumberland has immediate vacancies on the following committees: our Energy Advisory Committee
Originally known as the Cool Cities Committee, this commitee has recently adopted a new name and updated it’s goals and meeting schedule. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a committtee just beginning a new chapter! Visit www.cumberlandmaine.com to view and print the application, or contact Brenda at Town Hall (829-2205 or firstname.lastname@example.org) to have one sent to you.
The Town of Cumberland Energy Advisory Committee has been directed by the Town Council to explore and make recommendations for policies and initiatives related to the reduction of carbon emissions and energy conservation, and more specifically directs the committee to develop policies to:
- Reduce the Carbon Footprint and emissions for the Town of Cumberland
- Explore, inventory and recommend policies to the Town Council for energy savings and efficiencies.
- Work with surrounding communities to collaborate on regional energy savings and carbon reductions and emissions.
- Explore life-cycle costs for reccommended policies or initiatives, including pay-back costs.
As the committee matures, you will see more information and projects listed on this page. Meetings are held at 6pm on Wednesdays on a quarterly basis at the town hall, and are open to the public. Feel free to stop on by; we’d love to hear your input!
