Golf & Tennis Camp

Brian Bickford, Val Halla Golf Course, Head Golf Professional

Brad Leighton, Val Halla Golf Course, Junior Coordinator/Assistant Golf Professional

Wayne St. Peter, Grand Slam Tennis, www.grandslamtennis.net

A very popular camp...a great combination of sports!

The goal of this camp is to teach golf and tennis to children through instruction, drills and play.  Camps will begin at 9:00 a.m. each day with supervised drop-off time at the putting green at 8:45 a.m.

  • Each full-day session is limited to 48 children (per session) between the ages of 8-15.
  • Each half-day session is limited to 8 children (per session) between the ages of 8-15.

Campers in the full-day program will be split into two groups based on age.  In the morning (9:00 - 11:30), Group A will receive instruction in one sport while Group B receives instruction in the other sport.  In the afternoon (12:30 - 3:00), Group A and B will swap sports.  Lunch period runs from 11:30 to 12:30.  During lunch period campers will have the option to play board games, review sports related videos or participate in contests around the putting green for small prizes.

New for 2010 is the addition of our "own" indoor space at Val Halla.  We created a "Junior Room" in the basement of the Viking Grill for education, instruction and lunch.  This is a supervised space when open for use only.

We can provide nightly storage for equipment during the week but space is limited.  Also, if your child does not have equipment we can provide it with proper notice.  Please email Brian at bbickford@cumberlandmaine.com for golf equipment needs or Wayne at granslamtennis1@yahoo.com for tennis equipment needs the week before class starts.

Campers should bring lunch, two shirts, sunscreen, hat and water bottle each day.

Full-Day Session:   Golf & Tennis (Monday - Friday; 9:00 to 3:00);  There is a "Golf Only" full-day option as well.

Half-Day Session:  "Golf Only" (Monday - Friday; 9:00 to 12:30); "Tennis Only" 8-11 Yr Olds (Monday - Friday; 9:00 to 12:00); "Tennis Only" 12 & Older (Monday - Friday; 12:00 to 3:00)

Session I:  July 19th - July 23th
